Title: Driving India’s Energy Future with Smart Lithium Battery Storage By Khushboo Sachdev, Founder & MD, Su-vastika Systems Pvt. Ltd.
At Su-vastika, we have always believed that the future of energy lies in clean, intelligent, and scalable storage solutions. When I co-founded this company, my vision was to create a meaningful shift—away from polluting diesel generators and toward sustainable lithium battery–based energy storage systems that serve homes, businesses, and infrastructure alike.
Today, Su-vastika stands at the forefront of India’s energy storage revolution. We have developed a range of patented technologies, from IoT-based Battery Management Systems (BMS) to Emergency Rescue Devices (ERD) for elevators—designed to switch power in milliseconds during outages. These innovations aren’t just products; they are a part of our mission to make energy more accessible, safe, and intelligent.
One of our proudest installations includes a 15 kVA lithium-powered backup system for Wipro in Pune, which ensures uninterrupted operation for critical systems while offering a greener, quieter alternative to gensets. Across Gurugram, our ERD technology is being used to protect passengers in over 18 lifts with instant backup—something traditional UPS systems were never designed to do.
While we lead in India, I’m inspired by the momentum happening globally. In 2025 alone, nearly 42 GWh of new battery storage has been installed worldwide in just the first four months—a 62% increase from the previous year. Countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE are embracing Chinese-made lithium battery systems at scale, helping stabilize their growing renewable grids. In Japan, TotalEnergies is developing a 1 GWh battery storage project in Fukushima to further the nation’s green goals.
Here in India, the government is taking bold steps. SECI’s recent bid for 2,000 MW of solar with co-located battery storage sends a strong message: storage is no longer optional—it’s essential. The future lies in solar plus ESS, and we are actively working to bring these hybrid systems to commercial and residential clients with simplified installations and advanced software for real-time control.
We’re also aligned with the global shift toward LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry—valued for its safety, stability, and long lifecycle. With AI-powered software, USB upgrades, and mobile app integration, our lithium systems are designed not just to store power—but to think with it.

My Vision for India
India is poised to lead the global clean energy movement—not just in adoption, but in innovation. My vision is to see every Indian home, school, hospital, and enterprise equipped with clean, intelligent power backup systems that are Made in India, for India. Diesel generators should become relics of the past—replaced by solar-powered, lithium-based energy storage systems that are smarter, quieter, and greener.
I want Su-vastika to be a catalyst in helping India build micro-energy independence—from urban apartments to rural villages. Our patented systems are designed to run entire homes or elevators during a power cut, while offering digital transparency, minimal maintenance, and long-term cost savings.
If we can empower one household at a time to move off the grid—or at least become less dependent on it—we’ll create not just energy security, but climate resilience, economic upliftment, and better health outcomes for millions. That is the India I dream of. And at Su-vastika, we are building that future every single day.
Let this be the decade where India leads the world in smart, sustainable energy storage—and I’m proud that Su-vastika is part of that journey.
