Indian Battery Storage Giants Unite To Lead The Bess Market With Made-In-India Technology
Aug 20, 2025- The collaboration comes as India’s battery energy storage market experiences explosive growth.
Two leading Indian battery energy storage companies have forged a strategic alliance. This alliance aims at revolutionizing the country’s backup power sector through advanced lithium-based solutions.
Statcon Energiaa and Su-vastika announced their collaboration this week. They are targeting both domestic markets and international exports as India accelerates its clean energy transition. The partnership combines decades of expertise in power electronics and renewable energy systems.
My vision is clear – to eliminate the need for diesel generators in both residential and commercial sectors by empowering India with reliable, efficient battery storage solutions,” said Kunwer Sachdev, founder of Su-kam and widely known as the ‘Inverter Man of India‘.
The collaboration comes because India’s battery energy storage market experiences explosive growth. Industry projections show the sector expanding from $7.8 billion in 2024 to over $32 billion by 2030. This represents a compound annual growth rate of nearly 27 percent.
Manoj Pande, founder and managing director of Statcon Energiaa, emphasised the partnership’s strategic timing. “With the aspirations of a rising New India, we firmly believe lithium batteries represent the future. This alliance provides our channel partners with a comprehensive range of lithium-based solar hybrid solutions.“
The merger of capabilities sees Statcon Energiaa’s established expertise in battery storage and grid-tied solar inverters because it combines with Su-vastika’s innovation portfolio which includes technology patents in lithium batteries and specialised inverter systems.
This is the era of collaboration, not competition, for Indian power electronics companies,” noted Khushboo Sachdeva, co-founder of Su-vastika Systems Private Limited.
The strategic alliance has secured backing from Rotomag Enertec Ltd, which so now holds majority stakes in both companies. Rotomag’s Managing Director, Umesh Balani, aims to consolidate India’s solar generation and storage sectors, So they are building on the company’s existing leadership in solar water pumping systems.
The partnership positions both companies to capitalise on the industry’s shift away from traditional lead-acid battery technologies and they are moving toward more efficient lithium-ion solutions, as India pursues its ambitious decarbonisation goal.
